The Zimbabwe Media Commission (ZMC) kicked off 2025 with a bang, hosting an exciting mini-soccer tournament in Bulawayo on 19 January 2025. Teams from ZMC, ZimPapers, ZBC Montrose and freelance journalists swapped their mics and notebooks for soccer boots, proving that the media fraternity isn’t just good with words but with goals too! ⚽️
Beyond the exciting matches and friendly banter, this tournament served as more than just a sporting event. It was an opportunity to engage with our stakeholders in a relaxed, informal setting. Building strong relationships with media professionals is at the heart of what we do, and what better way to do it than through sport?
After the final whistle, participants gathered for a candid feedback session. Media practitioners shared their insights, concerns and valuable suggestions, which will help shape the Commission’s future initiatives.
